As a Volunteer Coordinator (VC), your role is:

  • To create and ensure a positive volunteering experience for the Volunteer Befrienders (VBs) and enjoyable day for the beneficiaries
  • Together with a fellow VC, you will guide and lead your group of VBs and beneficiaries in the Craft Activity and Gallery Tour in the museum.
  • During the Gallery Tour, you are required to deliver the museum artefact content in a fun and engaging manner to pique the interest and encourage conversations between the VBs and beneficiaries.  Script and helpful information will be provided during the Orientation & Training session. Museum Guides will also be present during the Orientation & Training session to provide guidance and feedback.

As an SMV, you will be involved in photojournalism on the go - documenting the event and capturing the heartfelt moments. Using your own mobile device, take and post photographs, short videos and IGstories with captions. You will also be managing the event Instagram account that will be pre-created for you, and uploading all the photos to YCS' Google Drive post-event for our records.

SMVs should:

Who We Are

Youth Corps Singapore is a national institution that supports young Singaporeans who are keen to serve the community. As the champion for youth volunteerism, it harnesses the energy and passion of youths to ignite positive change in the society through community service.

Bringing together Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 16 to 35, Youth Corps Singapore provides a platform for youths to learn new skills and meet like-minded peers, who aspire to go forth and create a better Singapore and a better world for all.

What We Offer

As a Member of Youth Corps Singapore, you can make friends with people like yourself at various platforms. Whether it’s health, education, or environmental causes, we offer a diverse range of volunteering opportunities and events for our Members, from community service events to regular volunteering.

Members can also join our Leaders Programme as Aspirants. We provide relevant trainings where you can take your skills and knowledge of service-learning to the next level, and apply them to a project to impact the community. You will also forge greater bonds with fellow Aspirants, and enjoy exclusive perks. When you are conferred as a Leader, you get to continue to develop yourself, initiate community projects and rally your friends to join you on a good cause.

The Red Box

Set in the heart of Orchard Road, The Red Box is a place for youths to gather, exchange ideas and take action to make Singapore a better home for all. Its name draws inspiration from the red box of Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It represents the late Mr Lee’s love and conviction towards creating a better Singapore.

The Red Box is open to all Youth Corps Members to ignite positive change in our community. Look out for various enrichment and engagement sessions at The Red Box.
